A Whistleblower policy was mentioned during the Board Basics webinar. The NYS Library’s help doc states:
“Whistle Blower Policy: All public and association libraries with twenty or more employees AND an annual revenue in excess of one million dollars in the previous fiscal year are subject to Not-for-Profit Law, §715-b. (Note that this is required only for certain libraries.)”
This makes the Whistle Blower policy an option, rather than a mandate, for member libraries of CEFLS.
If you have watched the recording of this session, CEFLS cannot provide a certificate of completion. Instead, you can use the Self-Assurance Reporting Form provided by the NYS Division of Library Development as proof of fulfilling one hour of continuing education.
