National Native American Heritage Month
This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
The designation of November as National Native American Heritage Month was signed into law in 1990. Join us in honoring the rich culture, traditions, and achievements of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) people as we celebrate this special month of recognition.
The Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System is pleased to announce that four libraries in Franklin County will be hosting Talking Turtle Stories! Join Perry Ground (Onondaga, Turtle Clan) for an engaging presentation filled with cultural and historical information for audiences young and old.

Thanks to a Lake Placid Education Foundation Grant, CEFLS created a mobile art exhibit as part of the “Sharing the Values and Culture of the Haudenosaunee” project. The display depicts The Creation Story with 11 prints of art illustrated by John Fadden and colorized by his son, David Fadden of the Six Nations Iroquois Cultural Center. The exhibit is available in two formats to accommodate various space layouts (metal prints with wire hangers or foam boards with easels). You can check out one of the displays at Wells Memorial Library in Upper Jay until November 16th!
