Project Idea: Naturally-dyed Easter Eggs for Kids and Adults
Here’s a neat project idea that might work for an adult project or for children (with adult supervision) found by Ewa.
That’s right, they’re incredible, edible eggs! (Sorry, couldn’t resist.) Yes, they’re not only unique pieces of art, but they’re entirely safe to eat. If you can boil the mixture, you should be able to make your own in under an hour. They’re rather spectacular little things that can be made using a few ingredients:
- Onion skins
- 1-2 tbsp hibiscus tea per liter of water
- White vinegar
- Cold, extra large white eggs
- Rubber bands
- Leaves, small flowers, paper designs, etc.
- Cut pieces of pantyhose
Fair warning though, working with eggs can get messy (especially if you want to include kids)! But the basic idea of egg art could make for an interesting day at the library anyway. You can always adapt this to your situation.
