Support the Right to Read

The freedom to read is essential to our democracy. The Library Bill of Rights affirms that libraries should provide books and other resources to meet the needs of all people of the communities that they serve. In addition, they should provide materials and information presenting all points of view on current and historical issues. When individuals or groups attempt to remove or restrict materials, it is called a challenge. A banning refers to the removal of those materials.
