Traveling theater show coming to area libraries in August!
The Traveling Lantern Theatre Company will be visiting twelve member libraries in August to present “My Mother the Astronaut: To the moon and beyond!” which ties in with our summer reading theme, A Universe of Stories. In this show, Aquarius’ mom is an astronaut and today is “Take your child to work day”. Aquarius can’t wait to go to NASA and find out what it’s like to be in space! They visit Mission Control where she meets scientists and engineers who show her what they do and she learns all about space travel. Her imagination blasts off and she dreams of incredible journeys through the cosmos!
Traveling Lantern has been educating and entertaining children all over the country since 1985. Their mission is to bring great stories to children, to draw them into an active theater experience, to excite their minds and to tickle their imaginations. The plays are created for audiences in the Pre-K through 8th grade age group and their families.
This project is made possible with the funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
