Learning Resource of the Month – February/March 2018 – A to Z Maps Online
NOTE – this resource was discontinued due to lack of use.
A to Z Maps Online is a wonderful educational resource for students, teachers, historians, hikers, travelers and anyone interested in geography! The site brings together modern and historical maps from a variety of sources which can be downloaded in high or low resolution and printed for your personal use. Some example maps:
- Topographic maps for every quadrangle in the United States
- Antique maps for towns and cities including 1877 and 1899 maps of Plattsburgh, an 1886 map of Malone
- Tree and bird species range maps
- Modern maps of the world, either with place names or without for teaching purposes
- Maps of the Holy Land
We were amazed at the quality of a high-resolution download from the site. If you ever wanted an antique map to frame and put on the wall, you can find one for free here!
You will need your library card number to log in, so have it handy.
