Just finished your last good read and need something to fill the void left behind? We have just the thing for you. The online catalog is continuously updated as libraries and the Library System add new titles, both physical and digital. Clicking on a category below will bring you to the latest and greatest additions to the collection. You can further limit the results to your home library by using the menu on the left-hand side afterwards. Depending on the format and availability, you can even request the items listed to pick up at a library of your choice, or you can download it on your e-reader, smart device, or read it in a browser.

The freedom to read is essential to our democracy. The Library Bill of Rights affirms that libraries should provide books and other resources to meet the needs of all people of the communities that they serve. In addition, they should provide materials and information presenting all points of view on current and historical issues. When individuals or groups attempt to remove or restrict materials, it is called a challenge. A banning refers to the removal of those materials.

If you’re an avid reader, you’ll love these short email newsletters that highlight new books in your chosen subject area or genre such as historical fiction, science fiction, travel, romance or history.   You can sign up and choose your topics here: http://www.libraryaware.com/1099/Subscribers/Subscribe.

Once you sign up, you’ll receive occasional email newsletter with short summaries of the new and recommended titles and links to the library catalog, where you can check to see which libraries own the titles and place requests.  You can always opt out with a link at the bottom of each newsletter.
