Libby Will Require a PIN on October 14th
To better ensure your access to online resources like ebooks, e-audiobooks, and digital magazines is secure, Libby will start requiring a PIN to log in on Wednesday, October 14th. There may be some disruption that morning to the service. If you have a library card with your local library, the PIN is the same number you use to log into the online catalog. If you are unsure of what your PIN is, please reach out to your library directly or contact us at info@cefls.org.
Tuesday Movie Club
Mountain Lake PBS and the Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System (CEFLS) invite the community to the next Tuesday Movie Club screening, Remake, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Screenings are free and take place at libraries across the region, followed by community discussion.
Remake is the newest film from pioneering filmmaker Ross McElwee, whose 1986 landmark Sherman’s March is widely regarded as one of the most influential personal documentaries ever made. Remake draws from decades of family footage, some filmed by McElwee and some by his son Adrian, creating an intimate reflection on the bond between father and son. Long before smartphones made filming family life commonplace, McElwee was recording his own with remarkable candor. Now, in Remake, he asks what the camera reveals and what it hides.
After Adrian’s death from an overdose, McElwee returns to the footage he and his son created over a lifetime. The result is a moving film about grief and memory, about holding on and letting go.
Remake has earned wide critical praise. The Boston Globe’s Odie Henderson called it “one of the year’s best documentaries.” The film holds a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and won the Impact Golden Globes Prize for Documentary at the Venice Film Festival, along with awards at multiple film festivals.
