  • October 22nd - Wadhams Free Library - Dogwood Bread Company presents Sunday Brunch - an extravaganza at the bakery to benefit the library. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sourdough waffles, hearty frittatas, fruit salad and tempting desserts, coffee, tea and juice. Suggested donation $12 adults / $6 12 and under.

  • October 23rd - Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System - Board of Trustees meeting at 4:30. Video conferencing with Schroon Lake Public Library, 15 Leland Avenue, Schroon Lake and Saranac Lake Free Library, 109 Main Street, Saranac Lake. The public is welcome at all three locations.
  • October 24th - Saranac Lake Free Library - Great Films - "Rebecca," the 1940 film starring Joan Fontaine and Lawrence Olivier, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, in the Thomas B. Cantwell Community Room. 2 p.m.

  • November 1st - Wadhams Free Library - Wednesdays in Wadhams - Insurance, Modernism and the Poetry of Wallace Stevens with Richard Aberle. Professor Aberle teaches English at Plattsburgh State. He recently gave a series of talks on Shakespeare at the Essex Community Church and last spring gave a talk on Lincoln's most important speeches at the Whallonsburg Grange. 7:30 p.m.

  • November 15th - Wadhams Free Library - Wednesdays in Wadhams - Wildways: From Local to Continental with John Davis, local author, naturalist and conservationist, champions "wildways," wilderness corridors where large animals can safely cross the land as they once did. In his book Big, Wild, and Connected, he recounted his 7000+ journey by bike, boat, and foot. He'll discuss that trip, along with our local wildlife corridor, the Split Rock Wildway. 7:30 p.m.

  • December 6th - Wadhams Free Library - Wednesdays in Wadhams - Habitat for Humanity with Schelling McKinley. He directs AuSable Valley Habitat for Humanity and is a partner in High Peak Carpentry. He'll discuss local efforts to build affordable housing and will talk about the vital role of volunteers in those projects. 7:30 p.m.
